DIY Professional Lock Picks!

license

how to make you very own lock picks! out of house hold items1. 11 yay!

I was browsing through some random instructables not finding anything of much interest except ALL OF TETRANITRATES POSTS! boy man your my idol!
so neways i thought to myself "hmm not many good instructables on making professional lock picks" and so my very fist instructable was born.

this instructable will outline some very good methods of making quite good lock picks that function surprisingly well.

Step 1: MATERIALS! AND OVERVIEW

MATERIALS.
2 hacksaw blades (ammount can vary)
bench grinder.
assorted allan keys.
files (if you do not posses a bench grinder).
and if you dont have either a bench grinder or files at a very last resort you can use a angle grinder with metal disk (EXTREEMLY DANGEROUS)

Step 2: The Tension Wrench

first set up your workspace..
good now that thats done, turn on you bench grinder or equivalent and grind down the short end of the allan key so that it has a long flat section that should fit in the keyhole of all the locks you test it on
tips:
1. when grinding keep a glass of cold water nearby so that you can dunk the hot end of the allan key to prevent it loosing its "temper" lol not the angry meaning.
2. wear some goggles the first time i did this i ended up with a hot metal flake in my eye which hurt alot and slowed down my pick making process.
3. just take general care and dont stick your fingers in anything moving in excess of 2,000 rpm.

Step 3: Making Lock Picks!!1

ok well we will start off with a very common "diamond" lock pick.
I AM ONLY GOING TO DESCRIBE HOW TO MAKE 2 OF THE MOST COMMONLY USED LOCK PICKS!
fist grind all of the teeth off of your hacksaw blades so you dont hurt your hand when you actually pick your lock (or sombody elses)
DIAMOND LOCK PICK
grind a nice long shaft of apporoximatly 1.5 inches with a small 3mm high diamond on the end(equilatteral) your picks shaft should be about 4mm high and leave a broader section about 2 inches long for the actual handle
RAKE LOCK PICK
essentialy the exact same as the diamond BUT the end of the pick is not a diamond but more like a wiggly worm attatched to a hacksaw blade.

here are some pictures of double ended picks which i made myself out of hacksaw blades and a grinder
TAKE HEED OF THE WIGGLY WORM SHAPE AND TRY TO REPLICATE IT BEST YOU CAN!

and also some commercial which dont look very spiffy (majestic)

Step 4: Conclusion.

well i hope my very first instructable was at least a bit helpfull but its probably terrible.
well if you are guna comment on it dont just criticise me, you can criticise me BUT it has to be helpful for everybody else that learnt from my article.
